How can ESPs preemptively adapt before enforcement begins?

You're an ESP user wondering if you should wait for your platform to push updates or go ahead and test on your own. The answer. don't wait. Here's what good ESPs are doing right now, and what you should verify they've done (or do yourself).
Platform level updates. Your ESP should've already added the required authentication headers like List Unsubscribe Post. They should've updated dashboard defaults to prompt you for SPF, DKIM, and DMARC setup. If you haven't seen these updates yet, ask your ESP support directly. If they're dragging, that's a red flag.
Compliance monitoring tools. Better ESPs now include dashboards showing your complaint rate, bounce rate, and DMARC alignment against the new thresholds. If your platform doesn't have this, you're flying blind. That's not acceptable in 2024.
Customer guidance. Your ESP should be sending proactive emails, help docs, and webinars about the new requirements. Not doing that. They're not taking compliance seriously, and you should start testing independently.
What you should do right now. Run your own authentication audit. Pull your DNS records and validate SPF, DKIM, and DMARC alignment using Review My Emails' free DMARC Parser and SPF Checker. Don't rely on your ESP alone. Check your unsubscribe setup manually (click the link, verify it works). Monitor your complaint rate weekly against the 0.3% threshold. This is your responsibility, not theirs.
