What is fmb.la?

Still have a question, spotted an error, or have a better explanation or a source we should cite?

bl.fmb.la, short.fmb.la and nsbl.fmb.la check domains, and bl also takes IPs and name servers.

What the operator says

"only the worst actors are listed" fmb.la, About, read 1 Nov 2026.

What it really measures

bl is a weighted mix of several sources, in three levels:

  • Level 1 is a single IP or domain.
  • Level 2 is a range of IPs, listed when a provider does not react to listings on its network.
  • Level 3 is a whole network, and very few reach it.

short means something different. It only says the domain hosts a link shortener, which is no accusation by itself.

How to get off it

Level 1 clears by itself after 7 days with no abuse. To ask sooner, your IP's reverse DNS must point to a domain you control. Log in to fmb.la, look up the IP, claim the domain with a text record at _fmbla.yourdomain.com, then delist. It should clear within the hour. Getting listed again delays this, so make sure the IP is clean first.

For Levels 2 and 3, only your provider can fix it.

Want a hand getting this delisted? Here is how to write to a list's operator, or ask a person on our free SOS Hotline. Tell us the list and the IP or domain, and we reply within 48 to 72 hours.

A separate job: cleaning your list does not remove a listing. If you also want to know who on your list is safe to send to, clean your first 1,000 free.
