Cookie Policy
Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. This page explains the ones we use, what each one does, how long it lives, and how to turn off the optional ones. If something is missing, write to privacy@reviewmyemails.com and we will fix it.
1. Consent up front (if you are in the EU, UK, or Switzerland)
We only set Analytics and Functional cookies after you give consent through our cookie banner. Strictly Necessary cookies are set regardless because the service cannot run without them.
You can withdraw consent at any time by reopening the cookie banner from the link at the bottom of any page or by clearing cookies for this site in your browser. The withdrawal does not affect anything we already did with your consent.
2. Categories we use
Four categories. The first is required; the rest are not.
2.1 Strictly Necessary
Required for the service to work. These store your consent choices and your sign-in session. You cannot disable them and continue using the dashboard.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| rme_cookie_consent | Stores your cookie consent choices so we can honour them. | 12 months | First-party |
| rme_session | Keeps you signed in to the dashboard. Required for the service to work after login. | Session | First-party |
2.2 Analytics
Help us understand how people use the site so we can fix confusing parts. We only set these if you consent.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4. Anonymous traffic measurement (pages per session, returning visitor counts). | 2 years | Third-party (Google) |
| _clck, _clsk, CLID | Microsoft Clarity. Aggregate user-experience signals (heatmaps, session replays with PII redacted). | 1 year | Third-party (Microsoft) |
| va_* | Vercel Analytics. Privacy-friendly page-view measurement; no cross-site tracking. | Session | Third-party (Vercel) |
2.3 Functional
Remember your preferences so we do not ask the same question twice (language, layout). Set only after consent.
| Name | Purpose | Duration | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
| rme_language | Remembers the language you picked so we do not ask again. | 1 year | First-party (local storage) |
| rme_translations_cache_* | Caches translated strings for the language you picked. | 1 year | First-party (local storage) |
2.4 Marketing and advertising
We do not currently set marketing or advertising cookies. No Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, or X pixel runs on the site. If we add any in the future, we will update this page, list them by name in a table like the ones above, and collect a fresh round of consent before placing them.
3. Your controls
- Cookie banner: opens automatically on your first visit. You can reopen it any time from the link at the bottom of any page.
- Browser settings: every major browser lets you delete cookies and block new ones. The exact menu varies by browser; search for "manage cookies" in your browser's help.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): we honour the GPC signal where it is required by law. If your browser sends a GPC signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out request for the sale or sharing of personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act and equivalent state laws, and we will not set Analytics or Functional cookies on your visit.
- Do Not Track: we read the DNT header. There is no consistent standard for what it should do, so we treat it as a request to disable Analytics and Functional cookies, the same way we treat GPC.
4. Third-party data flows
When you allow Analytics cookies, the third parties named above receive page-view and interaction data. The full list of every company that processes data on our behalf is in the sub-processor table of the Privacy Policy. The cookie-setting parties listed here are a subset of that table.
5. Questions and complaints
Cookies and any other data-protection question: privacy@reviewmyemails.com. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to your local data protection authority. In the EU they are listed at edpb.europa.eu.
